Windfall

A "windfall" is a "piece of unexpected good fortune" usually involving money (i.e. "windfall profits"). The term comes from an apple or other fruit being blown down from a tree by the wind. No effort involved in picking a juicy apple was a big deal back in the day I guess.

The origin of words and phrases is just interesting to me.
